History

The Secret Garden was created in 1988 by Jan and Meg Peterson (mother and daughter) as a specialty shop featuring women’s apparel and unique gifts.

The first location selected had a “garden” view, hence the name, but it became too small and a larger area was secured for the opening. The shop has grown five times its original size and now is owned solely by Meg Peterson Burdick. It now features women’s and children’s apparel (especially matching attire for both) along with select folk art featuring award winning artists and gifts for mom, babies and the home.
